H2O Degree LoRaWAN Temperature/Humidity Sensor Extends Network Features
Garden-style apartment and high-rise facility managers use the company's LoRaWAN-based wireless submetering system to monitor and control energy consumption; The new smart sensor enables tighter thermostat control.

H2O Degree, manufacturer of advanced two-way wireless submetering systems, announces the availability of a new temperature/humidity sensor as an addition to its LoRaWAN-based energy monitoring and control system. The L54110 LoRaWAN-enabled Smart Sensor adds functionality to existing networks comprised of H2O Degree battery-powered meters, sensors and controllers. The device has an operating temperature range of -20 to 50 degrees Celsius and relative humidity of up to 90%.
H2O Degree’s LoRaWAN-equipped devices utilize LoRaWAN Class A secure wireless 915 MHz technology. This long-range, open-protocol network facilitates line-of-sight, bi-directional communications of over six miles. In garden-style, multi-family properties, individual units can operate within a 1,000 foot radius from the gateway, ultimately covering up to a 30-story building. Meanwhile, LoRaWAN-enabled networking reduces or eliminates the need for repeaters even in these large buildings. This simplifies and lowers the cost of submetering installation.
The entire LoRaWAN network is connected to the H2O Degree Cloud Server via a LIT1005 Ethernet Gateway or LIT2010 cellular modem. H2O’s Smart Metering wireless data acquisition system and PC-based software provide property managers and tenants with reporting and alerts to react quickly to faulty toilets, leaking faucets and water waste. The wireless monitoring system also provides landlords with data needed for tenant billing.
